Frequently Asked Questions

What should I expect when I visit Hillside?

You can expect to be greeted warmly and often. You can also expect God-centered worship intended to bring you into the very presence of Jesus, with Bible-based teaching designed to help you grow into a follower of Christ.

When are the Worship Services?

Our Sunday Worship Services are at 9:15 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.

Bible Education Hour for children and students is during the 9:30 a.m. Worship Service and during both hours for adults. Coffee and treats are served in the Commons area inside our South Entrance before each Service.

What kind of music will you play in the Worship Service?

Our music is relevant to our culture, but remembers our legacy through a variety of styles, all seeking to honor Christ in a way that draws us into His presence.

Our Worship Services are identical.

What kind of preaching is there?

Our Lead Pastor, Dr. Bob Bakke, teaches the Bible and how we can apply it to daily life.

How long will I be in the Worship Service?

Both services last approximately 70 minutes.

If you would like someone to pray with you after the service regarding the needs in your life or those of your loved ones, there are men and women at the front of the Worship Center who  feel privileged to seek God with you.

What does Hillside Church have for my family?

Every Sunday morning we have Life Courses for adults (Sept. - June), Student Ministries for students, and Bible Education for children during the 9:15 a.m. Worship Service.  During the 11:00 a.m. Worship Service we have Life Courses for adults, and Children's Worship - when children age 4 through 1st grade are dismissed during the Worship through Giving time in the Service to attend their own age-appropriate worship experience. A Nursery is provided during both Worship Services for children birth - 17 months, a Toddler Room and 3's Room for children up to age 4.

Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m (Sept. - April), we offer Wednesday Connect - activities for all ages. This includes an inexpensive family dinner served from 5:45 - 6:00 p.m.

What should I know if I'm coming with children?

During the 9:15 a.m. Worship Service, a nursery is provided for children birth through 17 months, and age-appropriate Bible Education classes for 18 mos. and older.  During the 11:00 a.m. Worship Service, childcare is provided through 3 years old, and children age 4 - 1st grade may attend the first part of the Worship Service, and leave for Kids Worship during the Worship through Giving time in the Service. We encourage children older than 1st grade to worship with their families. We provide children's bulletins that coincide with the message topic for use during both Worship Services.

What should I wear?

We're more concerned with bringing worshippers into the presence of God than we are with what they're wearing.

Where should I park?

Guest parking is available in the South Lot (in front of the building complex).

Where should I go once I'm on campus?

Enter through the South Entrance, under the canopy with the cross on top of it - it's on your right as you face our buildings from the main parking lot. Once inside the Commons area, greeters will help you with any questions.

Handicap parking is best in the North parking lot (behind the building complex).

Will I be pressured to give money?

We believe worship through giving is for regular attenders and members.
