Where Is Hillside Located?

Our address is 4300 W. 98th Street, Bloomington, MN 55437.

We are located two blocks west of France Ave. on 98th Street in Bloomington, MN (top of the hill and on the same side of 98th St. as Normandale Community College).

What Should I Expect When I Visit?

You can expect to be greeted warmly and often. You can also expect God-centered worship intended to bring you into the presence of Jesus, with Bible-based teaching designed to help you grow into a follower of Christ.

When Are the Worship Services?

Our Sunday worship services are at 9:15 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.
A Bible education hour for all ages happens during the 9:15 a.m. worship service.
Coffee and treats are served in the gym lobby inside our south entrance before each service

What Style of Music Is Featured in the Worship Service?

Our music is relevant to our culture, but remembers our legacy through a variety of styles, all seeking to honor Christ in a way that draws us into His presence.

Our worship services are identical.

What Is the Style of Preaching?

Our lead Pastor, Dr. Bob Bakke, teaches the Bible and how we can apply it to daily life. He typically uses an expository style.

You can watch videos of archived sermons here.

How Long Is the Worship Service?

Both services last approximately 70 minutes.

If you would like someone to pray with you after the service regarding personal needs or those of your loved ones, men and women are at the front of the worship center who feel privileged to seek God with you.

What Does Hillside Church Offer for My Family?

Every Sunday morning (from September-June) we offer Adult Life Courses at 9:15 am.

Childcare for infants - age 3 is available during both worship services: a nursery for infants (birth - 17 months) and rooms for 2 - 3 year olds. Our rooms are staffed by loving, trained volunteers.

During our 9:15 service, Sunday school is available for kids through 12th grade (*Please note that there will be no Sunday school for school-age children during the months of July and August; however, baby and toddler care and Kids Worship will be available during both services each week):

During our 11:00 service, children ages 4 - 1st grade are dismissed at the offering to attend Kids Worship in the elementary wing. We encourage children older than 1st grade to worship with their families. We provide children's bulletins that coincide with the message topic for use during both worship services.

Wednesday nights from September - late April at 5:30 we gather for Wednesday Connect: beginning with supper, followed by a variety of activities for all ages.

What Should I Wear?

We're more concerned about bringing worshipers into the presence of God than we are with what they're wearing.

Where Should I Park?

Guest parking is available in the south lot (in front of the building complex). For the elderly, handicapped, or families with young children, we suggest the north parking area (behind the building complex) and north entrance to the facility.

Where Should I Go Once I'm on Campus?

Enter through the south entrance, under the canopy with the cross on top of it (door #1) - it's on your right as you face our buildings from the main parking lot. Once inside the commons area, greeters will help you with any questions.

Handicapped parking is best in the north parking lot (behind the building complex).

Will I Be Pressured to Give Money?

We believe worship through giving is for regular attenders and members.
